Pink Moose

Hi Everybuddy -

Shyla made an interesting observation today. She said we have a pink moose. What??!! Did I hear that right??

"I saw it! It's in the kitchen!"

I decided I'd better check this out. I asked Shadow if she had seen anything unusual:

"Oh yeah - it went that-a-way"

This is very strange. I thought I'd try Meeka. He knows everything:

"Haven't seen it. Lemme look outside"

Let's make sure we're all on the same page here. This is a moose:

They are very, very large. I don't know how it could even fit through the front door! And I haven't seen any of these anywhere either:

Maybe Shyla meant to say pink MOUSE. Wouldn't this be more likely? :

Or maybe even this:

And I know these exist:

But a pink MOOSE? I figured it was time to ask Mom. She knows everything about everything (most of the time). Guess what? There IS a moose in the kitchen! LOOK:

"It's STRAWBERRY MOUSSE!!"

Haroorroooorrooo! They almost had me on that one!

"Those silly pups!!"

STAWBERRY MOUSSE

1 8 oz pkg. of Cream Cheese (Fat Free or regular)

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup boiling water

1 4 oz pkg. of strawberry jello (sugar free or regular)

1/2 cup cold water

2 cups Cool Whip (sugar free or regular) thawed

2 cups sliced strawberries

Beat cream cheese and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed until well blended. Set aside. Stir boiling water into dry gelatin mix in small bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Add cold water; stir until slightly thickened. Gradually add to cream cheese mixture, beating after each addition until well blended. Gently stir in 1 1/2 cups of the whipped topping and the strawberries.

Spoon evenly into 10 small dessert dishes. Chill at least 1 hour or until firm. Top each with dollop of remaining whipped topping just before serving.

Noisy Cake

Hi Everybuddy -

This won't be a wordy post. The pictures are worth a thousand words unfortunately.

Looks like somebuddy was counter surfing! Darn cake. Who knew it would make a loud "thwuuuump" when it hit the floor. I'm not sayin' I'm responsible or anything! Woo.

"Might I need an alibi??"

My Official Legal Findings

From the Desk Of: ECHO - Siberian At Law

It has been brought to my attention Canyon Kapp (identified below):

....requires my legal advice for an incident which can be reviewed here.

My findings are as follows:

Canyon vs. Mom & Dad

In the case entitled Canyon vs. Mom & Dad my findings are as follows:

Upon stated date (Friday, 11th day of April, 2008) Canyon of The Kapp Pack was let outside into a yard containing mud. One known as "Dad" gave permission by default (open door) for Canyon to enter the muddy yard and will therefore share in our ruling. Leniency will be considered since Dad was doing laundry. We further find the accumulation of mud a natural act of God - therefore exonerating Canyon from further responsibility. We find pack mate known as "Sky" (identified below):

....... guilty of assault. Might we further add that "Dad" neglected to completely remove all of the mud from our client which perpetuated Mom to deny Canyon the simple comfort of the bed which is considered his due reward for providing unconditional love to his family. This denial has caused my client excessive stress and mental anguish. Therefore my recommendations are as follows:

- Canyon will have exclusive use of aforementioned bed for one entire night.

- Mom & Dad will be issued a suspended sentence of one night sleeping on the floor by the door to the garage. They will be observed for the period no less than one week and will report to the short, cute biped for daily evaluations. As a further stipulation to this recommendation, it will be noted that no food items (cookies, candy, cake) or toys can be offered to persuade evaluator for a favorable report. This would be considered a violation of their probation which will immediately revoke their suspended sentence and will result in a night by the door to the garage....on the floor.

- Furthermore, due to the findings of assault for perpetrator known as "Sky", we recommend he attend one day of anger management counseling.

- In addition, in an effort to avoid Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome - Canyon will be given one extra biscuit twice daily for the period of 30 days.

Justice For All

Hi Everybuddy -

It was a very good mail day on Friday. I received a package.....addressed to me! Our mailman was very impressed that not only do I have my own blog, I get my own mail too. Here I am checking out my package:

"Woo! I wonder who it's from!?"

"Is that a cat I smell????"

For awhile I thought maybe there was a cat in that box! But what I found was even better! Look:

"WooHoo! Bacon & Cheese biscuits!!"

Oh my dogness! How lucky can a guy get? Who could have sent this wonderful package to me??

"Is that a card Mom?"

"Ohhhh! It's from Steve & Kat!"

I've spent the winter learning all about law....food law to be specific. I heard that my blogging friends Steve & Kat recently needed some legal representation. You can read all about their plight here. As a token of their appreciation, they sent this great package of Koko's Gourmet Dog Biscuits......thanks Steve & Kat!! We all taste tested them and oh they are yummy! I'm so glad I could help my friends. Word traveled fast across the blogsphere (Steve and Kat's commercial for my services helped alot!) and my little buddy Canyon sent me a plea for help. It seems that he was unfairly booted out of his Mom & Dad's bed on a cold night. I have agreed to take his case even though it's really not my specialty of food law. It's bed law but I've been busy reading all about it. Don't worry little buddy! I'll be ready to plead your case real soon!

Springtime Snooze

Obviously somebuddy stayed up too late last night!

Our resident Prince (a.k.a. Meeka) seems to have worn himself out. I'm thinking that bone looks mighty tasty. I'll wait till I hear him snoring and then make my move. Shhhhhh!

Accessorizing

Hi Everybuddy -
Shadow here! Mom is letting me tell everyone about my brand new collar! She really loved my other one but decided it was about time I had a change. It is spring after all and we all know a girl's gotta keep up with the change of seasons. Take a look:

Isn't it bewoootiful?! It has butterflies on it, not to mention that wonderful fuschia color that goes so well with my black coat. Did you all notice that unlike some doggies - I still have my original collar bling? See:

Yes indeed. I've had that for several years. I'm not like the other knuckleheads who manage to mangle theirs every year. I'm thinking my new spring makeover makes me look younger. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do to keep up that image!

On a sidenote, we'd like to mention a new blog that Mom set up for anyone interested in seeing our girl's riding progress. Show season is coming up and Mom was so busy sending pictures and videos to family and friends that wanted to see them that she decided a blog format would be alot easier. For anyone interested, you can visit here.

Fuzzy Art

Hi Everybuddy -

I thought I'd share something quite unique that's hanging on one of our walls. Mom says it's one of her most prized possessions - besides me of course. It's a piece of art that Mom and Dad found in a gallery a few years ago. They just had to have it, despite it's size. Mom said when they got it home it was even larger than it looked in the gallery (kind of like the Christmas Tree you see in a field....Harrooorrroo!) so they were a bit concerned but were determined to find a good spot for it. Take a look:

It's a wolf made completely from Alpaca fur! It's SO soft and sometimes when Mom's not looking I go up and bury my snooter into the part that I can reach. It's important to note that no Alpaca's were harmed to make this wall hanging. Only the fur was harvested (sheared) just like sheep, then attached to a synthetic backing. These are Alpacas:

Mom thinks they're very whimsical looking! They have become very popular here in the United States and are easily kept by young and old alike. They are very social animals and do best in herds since they don't like to be alone. Sort of like us. They weigh between 160-200 lbs and get this.....they have three stomachs! Harrooorroo! One would think they'd eat alot of great things having that many tummies but their main diet consists of grass. They are very easy to keep in captivity and adjust to most any climate. Alpacas live an average of 20 years - Woo! They are said to be alert, intelligent, and very curious - like a Siberian Husky! We really do have alot in common. Except for the three stomach thing of course. A neat thing about them is that they like to be sheared around every 12 to 18 months. Their fur is as soft as cashmere and lighter and warmer than wool. Their fur also comes in 22 natural colors which lends itself to some beautiful man made products like the wall hanging we have. It has become an interesting and lucrative hobby for many, as the carefully sheared fur is in great demand due to it's high quality and hypo-allergenic aspects. You can learn more about these interesting creatures here.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get it off the wall. I'm thinking it would be pretty great to stuff into my crate and curl up in. Woo!

Fishing Season

Hi Everybuddy -

I'll bet you didn't know that today is the opening day of Trout Fishing Season in Pennsylvania. That's right! Trout sure is yummy - almost as good as salmon. Dad has a pretty large fish tank in the family room and this got me thinking.........I could go fishing! I decided to take a look:

"Woo! There's all kinds of fish in there!"

"That looks like a tasty one! I'll need some help."

"This net should do it!"

Okay, so Dad caught me. Apparently he didn't think it was a good idea for me to go fishing. He's a spoilsport.

"It was for Meeka - really!"

Mom saved the day. In honor of Trout Season we had Merrick's Campfire Trout Feast for dinner and oh was it great! You really should try it sometime.

Until then - happy fishing!

Little Miss Big Britches

Hi Everybuddy - Today I will share with you video footage of me, outside, trying to get some rest and relaxation. Yeah right! Take a look at the resident redhead! You can tell somebuddy has energy to burn now that she has almost doubled her body weight. Mom calls her "Little Miss Big Britches" and "Stinker Bell". Take a look:

See what I mean?! Just how's a guy 'sposed to get some rest around here? You can see just how much help Meeka is. He stands there and barks. I get no sympathy which is just plain wrong. Mom keeps mentioning how I used to terrorize Meeka and Shadow. I certainly don't remember that. I think Mom has me confused with somebuddy else. Thank Dog it's Friday! Maybe I can get some R & R this weekend. ::sigh::

Pizza Prison

Hi Everybuddy -

Last night was pizza night. We love pizza night because it never fails that someone ends up distracted, leaves the box on the counter, and well.........you know the rest. Mmmmm! Unfortunately it looks like Mom is finally catching on. Look:

She put the pizza in prison! I'm not sure there's anything I can do about this. I need to get a closer look:

Who knew Mom would get smart? That's okay though because I have a plan. My buddy Peanut knows how to open the oven. He has even provided an instruction video for me to study. Check it out here.

"Plan B is coming Mom!"

Mom really should know better than to try to outsmart me. Next pizza night will be a yummy one!

It's Coming!

Hi Everybuddy -

Oh I'm SO excited! It finally happened........my wish has come true! Look:

Ever since my good friend Sitka blogged about the yummy frozen treats she gets at Sonic, I've crossed my paws and wished real hard for a Sonic here. I had Mom check their website and learned that there were only 4 Sonic restaurants in the entire state of Pennsylvania. Mom emailed them to ask if they'd consider a restaurant in our area. We never heard back so we just kept wishing and hoping. Well guess what??! IT'S COMING! It'll be just down the road a few miles, with 25 drive-in stalls, an outdoor patio ( for Siberian Huskies!), and a drive thru window. They will hire over 100 employees......woo! I'm thinking I might apply. I'm very good at pre-rinsing dishes here at home. I would even say I'm a professional. I am a working dog after all. I'll have to discuss this with Mom.

"Super Sonic Bacon Cheeseburger, Peanut Butter Cup Sonic Blast, Bananananana Shake, Grilled Chicken Sandwich....oohhhhhh!"

Easter Bunny Debacle

Uh oh! We may have a slight problem. Look:

Easter basket + grass + eggs = Easter Bunny. But......where'd he go?? I decided I'd better investigate.

"Open up Meeka! Nope - I don't see any sign of the Easter Bunny in there."

"Nope - No Easter Bunny there either."

"Wasn't me!!"

Woo! Could this be the last thing Easter Bunny saw?? :

We decided to stand watch to see if he would appear:

I dunno what happend to the cotton tailed critter! If anybuddy sees him, tell him we have his basket.
