For Those Who Suffered

Hi Everybuddy -

This is Michael Vick:

We're pretty sure most of you know who he is. For many years he struck fear in the hearts of many, many innocent dogs. Many suffered tremendously while on his property......some died horrible deaths. You can read about him here and here. We have opted not to post pictures of his dogs. It's disturbing to see them and has brought many to tears. Some of the lucky ones were rescued and are now living wonderful lives thanks to the kind hearts of many. Best Friends Society in Utah took in several that were deemed"unadoptable" with the hope that with extensive rehabilitation they could eventually be placed into loving homes. Some have - some will stay with the folks at Best Friends since their mental injuries were so severe that they cannot be overcome. You can read about the Vicktory Dogs here.

Mike Vick was found guilty and sentenced. Sadly, his sentence which consisted of several months gives him the right to be released very soon, possibly within the next 2 weeks. He will then be moved to a Halfway House where he'll serve another very modest term. The UFL has allegedly expressed great interest and is willing to negotiate (many reports state a lucrative contract has already been agreed upon) for a spot in their league immediately upon his release. He will once again have the potential to earn millions with speculation that the NFL may then consider him once the UFL's contract has expired. Although the Atlanta Falcons have stated in the past they would not be interested (we'll see), the NFL has left their options open. In the name of the dogs that have suffered we ask our friends to monitor this situation carefully. If petitions come your way which may allow you to express your feelings please consider it. The football world needs to know that we will not forget and this man does not deserve a second chance for the atrocities he has been responsible for.

My Mommy & I agree with you totally! What a jerk! I wonder if we did the eye for & eye if people would think about things before they do them! We watched the program about him on Animal Planet & it said that only 2 of the dogs had to be put down. I think one of them was a Mommy dog that they had filed her teeth down & used her as a practice dog. It's very sad story.

I agree, he shouldn't be allowed to forget what he did. If he does wind up making a whole lot of money again, he should donate a large portion of it to Best Friends and other organizations that help abused dogs.

Stella

We hated every story on Vick and those dogs. No animal deserves to be treated that way he and his friends treated those dogs.

He should have his wages garnished for the rest of his life, and the money should be donated to doggy rescue.

Michael Vick makes us crazy angry. It's nothing short of a miracle that some of his dogs were able to find a new life in some very giving homes.

We should all put our paws together and make sure this evil, evil man does not play in the UFL or NFL again!

We also think that is just awful that they would even consider letting him play again. Hopefully they will reconsider..

He is a terrible person to use dogs to get rich. His sentence should be wayyy longer like 1 year for each dog that suffered & died!!!!!
