Meeka's Thrifty Toys

Hi Everybuddy -
I am pleased to report that I am feeling so much better. Despite the fact that I do not like to visit "the vet", I have to admit that he gave me some medicine and it is making me feel a whole lot better. Mom said I'm still not ready for my birthday treats yet though.

Today I'm going to tell you all about Meeka's most favorite toy. You just won't believe this one. Now, we all know that Meeka is the royal one in our household. Not just any old food, blanket, treat, or toy will do. It has to be special. Most of us like the traditional dog toys. My personal favorite is my Nylabone. Here is Shyla demonstrating the toys she finds amusing:

And here's Meeka with his most favorite toy in the whole wide world:

None of us dare touch these toys without asking first (like we'd really want to!). They can usually be found in the family room toy box where he customarily goes digging for them right when Dad's trying to watch something on TV. That's probably the only time Dad will ever complain about Prince Meeka. Can you tell what they are? Here's a closer view:

They're pretzel stick containers! Yep, our royal Siberian has a thrifty side to him! Who knew??! As you can see he has customized them to his liking. Mom said it's probably one of the most perfect toys and has stood up to his typical husky play tactics. She also likes the price very much! They go flying across the floor nicely and are sturdy enough to endure his chewing without pieces breaking off. Congratulations to Meeka for finding one of the few things in the world that a Sibe can't destroy.

Hi-woo Echo,
I'm sooo glad you are feeling better. Juneau has a new play toy, too, but mommy is not happy about it, ha-roo - he's so bad!!! While she was taking her shower before work today, she blocked us in the kitchen. Juneau was able to jump up & grab the telephone cord off the high counter. He chewed it in half & made the handset his personal chew toy. When mommy came downstairs I gave her the angelic eyes & then looked at Juneau. HE DID IT! I WOULD NEVER CUZ I'M A BIG BOY!! I wuv when Juneau gets in trouble. Takes the pressure off of me. Mommy took some pics & will update our blog this evening. Caught him in the act, ha-roo!
Take it easy,

We're so happy you're feeling better, Echo! You'll be back to having CAKE before you know it! Ha roo!
There was a Border Collie in our neighborhood whose bestest toy was a bunch of plastic gallon milk jugs tied together. He'd throw it up in the air and all kinds of cool stuff. They moved away. Too bad; we liked him AND his bipeds!
Play bows,

Oh thrifty toys can sometimes be the best, ha roo! I like plastic water bottles. I like to bat them around the floor and remove the lid!!

That looks like a fun toy. I'll have to see if we have any of those around here. Glad to hear you're feeling better!

oh good, you are feeling better! we were sooo worried that we even ask Dr. Don about you.
Pretzel containers, huh? Hey, whatever floats your boat. guinness refuses new toys, Shiloh doesn't like them at all, and Misty has been mistaking butternut squash for kong footballs. Everyone has their thing.

Mom said she would like if we saved her money like Meeka does you. A doggy that recycles, how clever! I saw Maximus make toys out of taking caps off of plastic bottles.
